Applications for loans to pay for fees or course related costs, or to pay for the balance of fees, can be processed by visiting Studylink's website www.studylink.govt.nz

Work and Income (WINZ)

Training Incentive Allowance (TIA) is available to those on Domestic Purposes Benefit, Widow's Benefit, Emergency Maintenance Allowance or Invalid's Benefit. It is paid to help with the costs associated with training and education.

Teach NZ Scholarships

There are 65, $10,000.00 TeachNZ scholarships for Māori Undergraduate Graduate students who are wanting to teach in the Primary sector and who meet certain criteria. The scholarships are paid directly to individuals in three equal instalments over three years.

There are 50 TeachNZ $30,000.00 scholarships for those seeking a career change.

Applications are received from the end of November each year and the successful applicants are advised in January/February of the new year.

Holders of TeachNZ scholarships are also able to access the Student Allowances.

Māori Education Trust Scholarships

 Every year the Māori Education Trust offers various scholarships. Download the current application forms at www.maorieducation.org.nz. The courses they offer are full-time Māori Undergraduate courses. If you have any queries, please contact our Student Administrator on 0800 625 274.

Tuakana Nepe Memorial Scholarship

The Tuakana Nepe memorial scholarship was established in 2001 in recognition of the significant contribution the late Tuakana Nepe made during her time as Amorangi of Te Wānanga Takiura o Ngā Kura Kaupapa Māori o Aotearoa. In particular her work towards gaining autonomy (tino rangatiratanga) from the Auckland College of Education and working tirelessly in improving the quality of teacher training for Māori students.

Each year two scholarships will be awarded which will cover the full cost of student fees for that year at Te Wānanga Takiura o Ngā Kura Kaupapa Māori o Aotearoa. One scholarship for Rumaki Reo and one for the Ahurewa 100.
